About UsMission Statement
The Bridge exists to reach out to the UA Fort Smith campus, to SHARE the love of Christ, help students GROW in their relationship with Him, and SERVE His world.
Our Past, Present, and Future
During the spring semester of 2007 First United Methodist Church of Fort Smith under the leadership of Todd Vick Minister of Young Adults started The Bridge Campus Ministry. First church took it upon themselves to officially form and affiliate a campus ministry at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. The beginning of this ministry took the form of a weekly worship service with an average attendance of 2 and a semester high of 6. From these humble beginnings The Bridge has grown into a multi-opportunity ministry with a free meal on Monday's, a weekly Bible study, special retreats and trips, and starting with the fall 2009 semester a bi-monthly freshmen ministry, as well as a monthly worship service. During the 2008-09 academic year The Bridge grew to an average attendace of 12 at weekly Bible studies and 30 at our regular Monday Meals program. The presence of The Bridge on the UAFS campus is only growing stronger and stronger each year as we reach further and further into the campus to change lives for Jesus Christ. To find out more about our future read the vision document located in the resources section of this web site.
